No Escaping It wins the Best of Show

Sammy Moir of Ventura, CA, won "Best of Show" for his inventive "No Escaping It Robotic Menagerie" in the Professional Arts Show at the 2009 Ventura County Fair. He also won first place in the indoor sculpture division. Standing over six feet tall, the piece is loaded with robotic detail and steampunk style. As Sammy puts it, “This colossal robotic menagerie is a glittering glimpse into the future of mankind, relieved of his tedious burdens and superfluous obligations by his loyal robotics.”
This was the first time that Sammy has entered the Ventura County Fair and he’s “shocked, stunned, and having fun!” This father of two, who also has a day job as a full-time marketing director, says “Whether it’s sculpting, raising my children, marketing, editing video, or even washing a car, I try to uncover the art in whatever I am doing. So I suppose mostly I’m an artist.”
You can see Sammy’s work at the Ventura County Fair Pro Arts Show thru August 16th, 2009 or you can explore it at online gallery noescapingit.com.
