He was not elected to office and he's not the chief law enforcement officer for the courts in some U.S. county.He for sure does not represent any royal authority in a shire or region of the United Kingdom.
So... Why is he called The Sheriff?
The answer is simple. Because the star on his chest reminded me of a Sheriff's badge.
